A message from the creators
“We know how daunting exercise can be, but we want to change that narrative. As women, we have been led to believe that lifting is predominantly for men, but ironically, it is as important, if not more, for women to lift due to the bone density loss we endure later in life.
Women are more at risk of developing osteoporosis than men because the hormone changes that happen during menopause directly affect our bone density. By lifting weights, we can prevent this.
Lifting has so many benefits including cognitive health benefits that improve mood and helps stave off Alzheimer’s and Dementia. In this program, you will learn how to feel your best, and change your narrative around the ideologies of what exercise should be.
We can’t wait to go on this journey with you”

Equipment
Must haves**:
A set of adjustable dumbbells (2-10kg). When you're adding to a home gym, a set of adjustable dumbbells can be a cost-effective and space-saving way to get a range of different weights.
A moderate-heavy kettlebell (10kg+). To diversify your weight options we recommend getting a moderate to heavy kettlebell. With most exercises, you can swap a dumbbell in so you may as well give yourself more space to progress as you get super strong!
Resistance bands (latex, long and short loops). Resistance bands are a fantastic, lightweight and low-storage option for training at home.
Could haves:
Yoga blocks - these are really versatile and can help you adjust your range of motion and add support to your moves/mobility workouts as needed.
Exercise bench - supports a range of different exercises and a way to add progression to your movement.
**while these are listed as must-haves, there is no reason you can't swap in things like water bottles and heavy shopping bags. You don't need to spend a fortune to be able to participate in meaningful resistance training. However, this programme is designed around having access to a small amount of kit and we truly believe a small investment in a few key pieces is well worth it for the health benefits you get from resistance training.
